Third arrest made as investigators continue pursuit of remaining suspects
WHITEVILLE, NC — A third suspect has been charged in connection with the exchange of gunfire on Ward Street this past Friday, and two additional individuals are now wanted by police.

Shatisha Janice Jackson, 43, has been charged with felony conspiracy in relation to the incident. She is being held with no bond. Whiteville Police confirmed the charge Monday as the investigation continues to widen.
Two other individuals involved in Friday’s gunfire remain at large. Both are accused of firing into the home occupied by Shyreak W. Belton during the confrontation.
The suspects have been identified as Dale Freeman and Zyon Willis. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to contact 9‑1‑1 or reach out Whiteville Police anonymously.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
