Whiteville Police Seize Drugs, Firearm in Ward Street Search

WHITEVILLE, NC — Officers with the Whiteville Police Department’s Criminal/Narcotics Investigation Division executed a search warrant at 417 Ward Street on September 15, 2026, uncovering crack cocaine, marijuana, fentanyl, and a firearm in the possession of a convicted felon.

Investigators say the search followed ongoing complaints of suspected narcotics activity in the area. Seized items included approximately 13.6 grams of crack cocaine, 15.9 grams of marijuana, 1 gram of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Andre  Pone,  49,  of 417  Ward  Street, also known as “Goldie,” was arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, fentanyl, and a Schedule II controlled substance. Additional charges include three counts of manufacturing or selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two misdemeanor paraphernalia counts.

Pone was taken to the Columbus County Detention Center, where he was held without bond.

Chief  Paul D. Rockenbach said the department remains focused on identifying and prosecuting those diistributing fentanyl and other dangerous narcotics in the city.

“You may not know when we are watching,” Rockenbach said in the release. “If you are selling drugs in Whiteville, expect to meet us soon.”

The department thanked citizens for continuing to report suspected drug activity, noting that community tips help investigators build cases and remove dangerous substances from local streets.
