WHITEVILLE, NC — An inmate at the Columbus County Detention Center is facing an additional felony charge after allegedly attacking a officer inside the facility.
Deputies responded to an incident at the detention center on Prison Camp Road at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Monday, September 14. Authorities report that Michael Dickens, 26, physically assaulted a detention employee using his hands/fists, inflicting physical injury during the encounter.
Dickens was processed on an additional charge of assault causing physical injury to a detention facility employee.
