Southport, NC — Brunswick Little Theatre located at 211 N. Howe Street, will present Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus this December, offering a nostalgic holiday story set in New York City in 1897. The play follows eight‑year‑old Virginia O’Hanlon, whose excitement for Christmas falters when her friends insist Santa Claus is only a myth. Encouraged by her father, she writes to the New York Sun, where veteran journalist Francis Church, still grieving the recent loss of his wife – receives her letter and begins searching for a thoughtful answer to her timeless question. The production blends humor and heart, aiming to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Brunswick Little Theatre (BLT) will stage the show as a 1940s radio broadcast, with actors performing at microphones inside a recreated radio studio.
Cast members will read from scripts rather than memorizing dialogue, and one to two performers will create live sound effects throughout the performance. LittleThe cast includes adult and children roles. Several performers will portray multiple characters, with vocal variation serving as a central creative focus.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
Final Saturday and all Sunday shows begin at 3:00 p.m.
