WHITEVILLE, NC — The Whiteville Police Department responded to nearly 190 calls for service during the week of September 21, 2026, according to the agency’s latest weekly activity update.
During the week, officers responded to 188 calls for service, filed 19 incident reports, investigated six motor vehicle collisions, and made seven arrests.
As part of the weekly newsletter, the department highlighted Officer Wilder in its “Officer Spotlight” feature. The department commended Wilder for his approachable presence, positive attitude, and focus on community engagement.
“Whether he’s answering a call, lending a hand to a fellow officer, or simply taking a moment to speak with someone in the community, he represents the approachable and caring side of law enforcement,” the department stated. “A friendly conversation, a smile, or simply treating someone with kindness can make a difference—and those little moments are an important part of serving our community.”
The department also outlined two upcoming community events on its fall calendar:

Halloween Celebration: Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the City Hall parking lot.

NC Pecan Music Festival: Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
