OAK ISLAND, NC — A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in place for coastal Brunswick County, including the Intracoastal Waterway and nearby tidal creeks, through 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is possible in low‑lying areas along shorelines and tidal waterways.
Minor flooding may affect sections of the Intracoastal Waterway, with potential impacts to low‑lying roads and locations prone to tidal overflow.
Drivers should anticipate delays where water covers pavement and avoid bypassing barricades or entering water of uncertain depth. Property owners in flood‑prone areas are encouraged to take protective measures ahead of peak high‑tide periods.
The advisory is set to expire at 9:00 p.m. unless conditions change.
