LORIS, SC — Two people lost their lives and multiple others were injured following a weekend collision in Horry County.
According to emergency management and public safety officials, Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched at approximately 7:57 p.m. to a serious two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. The crash occurred in the Loris area near the intersection of West Highway 19 and South Green Sea Road.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle carrying a driver and a passenger was involved in the impact. Both individuals sustained fatal injuries from the crash.
Emergency responders transported a total of six individuals from the scene to area medical facilities for treatment, with two patients sustaining critical injuries. Traffic in the surrounding corridor was temporarily restricted as crews worked to clear the wreckage and render aid.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Horry County Police Department, is actively investigating the exact cause and contributing factors of the collision.
