Suspect extradited from Colorado after investigators allegedly found child sexual abuse material during an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
HORRY COUNTY, SC — The Horry County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has arrested Timothy Alfred Kapek, 60, on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to investigators, the case began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provided a tip regarding alleged criminal activity associated with a Google account.
During the investigation, deputies reportedly confirmed the presence of child sexual abuse material on Kapek’s cellphone. Authorities said Kapek was located and arrested in Vail, Colorado, before being extradited to Horry County.
Kapek has been charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Information regarding a court appearance or bond was not immediately available.
The investigation was conducted by the Horry County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Task Force.
