Shots Fired; Triggers Firearms Investigation in Ash

ASH, NC  — Law enforcement officers responded to a rural property in Ash after receiving reports of gunfire being discharged near dwellings.

Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Old King Road on September 28. According to incident reports, a shotgun was discharged in a manner that created fear among nearby residents.

Roland Evan King Jr., 33, and Samantha Marie Sparhawk, 32, were identified as victims in the discharge of firearms incident.

No suspect details or arrest information were immediately released in the initial public record. The investigation into the incident remains active, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
