  • Sex Offender Registration Violation: The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office reported a failure to register / falsification of sex offender verification notice at the Sheriff’s Office on Washington Street in Whiteville. A 58-year-old male suspect was listed in connection with the offense.

  • Obtaining Property by False Pretense: Deputies responded to 130 Leroy Gore Avenue in Nakina regarding a fraud incident involving a SoFi Bank account. The victim, Matthew Shelton, reported $5,100 in stolen funds.

  • Firearm Larceny: A theft of property was reported at 1309 Clyde Norris Road in Tabor City. The victim, Daquan Jackson, reported a stolen Glock 20 handgun.

  • Auto Parts Theft (Whiteville): Deputies investigated a theft of vehicle parts or accessories at Self Storage of Whiteville, located at 2525 James B White Highway North. Tina Hardy Bailey was listed as the victim.

  • Catalytic Converter & Vehicle Parts Theft: A secondary auto parts theft was reported at 2538 Chadbourn Highway in Whiteville. The victim, Deborah Ann Gore, reported the theft of an oxygen sensor from a Kia Amanti.

  • Weapon & Narcotics Seizure: Deputies conducted a law enforcement action at the intersection of 679 Union Valley Road in Whiteville. Authorities seized a Glock 43 semi-automatic pistol valued at $400 along with 18.11 grams of marijuana. A 24-year-old male was identified as the suspect on charges of felony firearm possession and marijuana possession.

  • Burglary, Methamphetamine & Drug Paraphernalia Incident: Deputies investigated a breaking and entering incident at 766 Whitehall Road in Whiteville. Law enforcement seized a Mercury vehicle, 0.42 grams of methamphetamine, 0.72 grams of an unidentified white powder, and drug paraphernalia. A 41-year-old female and a 36-year-old male were identified as suspects facing charges of breaking and entering, felony larceny, conspiracy, PWIMSD methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia possession.

  • Warrant Service: Deputies executed an active arrest warrant at 2528 Old Lumberton Road in Whiteville, taking a 25-year-old female into custody.

Wednesday, October 7, 2026

  • Breaking and Entering to Terrorize/Injure: Deputies responded to a residential disturbance at 3325 Pocosin Road in Lake Waccamaw. The victim, Kayla Jacobs, reported a break-in intended to terrorize or injure. A 53-year-old male was listed as the suspect.
