Methamphetamine Trafficking Investigation Leads to Arrest in Shallotte

SHALLOTTE, NC — A Shallotte resident is facing serious drug and firearm charges following a law enforcement investigation.

Cody Allen Mooney, 28, of Shallotte, was taken into custody on September 22 by Brunswick County Sheriff’s deputies. Investigators found Mooney in possession of a firearm and trafficking-level quantities of methamphetamine.

Mooney was booked on two counts of felony trafficking in methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
