Sharp Energy to Shift All Propane Offices to Cashless Payments

SHALLOTTE, NC — Sharp Energy customers will see a change in how payments are accepted at the company’s propane offices beginning Sept. 30, 2026. The company announced that all Sharp Energy locations will transition to cashless in‑office payments, ending the ability for customers to pay with cash at local offices.

Sharp Energy says the change is part of its effort to maintain safe, reliable service while improving account management and payment processing. After Sept. 30, customers will still have several payment options, including checks, credit cards, and automated bank draft (ACH).

For customers who prefer to pay with cash, Sharp Energy noted that cash payments will remain available through Western Union. Any Western Union payment location can accept Sharp Energy payments, and customers can find nearby locations through the company’s website at www.sharpenergy.com/pay-agent-locator. The company added that in areas where Western Union offices are not located close to Sharp Energy facilities, traditional non‑cash methods remain available.

Sharp Energy also plans to introduce new check‑scanning technology at its propane offices. The system will allow checks to be processed electronically at the time of payment, which the company says will provide a faster and more secure experience for customers.

According to the announcement, the transition to cashless offices is intended to enhance safety for both customers and employees while maintaining convenient payment options.

Customers with questions about available payment methods can contact their local Sharp Energy office or visit the company’s website for additional information.
