MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A 26‑year‑old Myrtle Beach woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after officers reported finding her intoxicated and in possession of a small amount of marijuana near 71st Avenue North and Porcher Drive.
According to police, Nigeria Cortaysha Edwards, Black, female, age 26, was taken into custody at approximately 3:20 a.m. on September 22, 2026 in the 300 block of 71st Avenue North/Porcher Drive. Edwards was charged with possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana, first offense (misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct/public intoxication (misdemeanor).
Officers also issued Edwards two misdemeanor citations at 399 71st Avenue North/Porcher Drive at the same time and date. The citations list the same offenses: public intoxication and possession of 28 grams or less of marijuana, first offense.
Police did not release additional details regarding the circumstances leading to the arrest.
