HALLSBORO, NC — A Hallsboro resident faces a sweep of felony property charges following an investigation into the theft of a pickup truck on Monday morning.
Irvin E. Nunez, 32, of 357 Honey Hill Road, Hallsboro, was arrested by Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies at 1:17 p.m. on Monday, September 21.
According to Sheriff’s Office logs, deputies responded to a report of a residential breaking and entering on Flynn Cemetery Road in Whiteville shortly before 10:00 a.m. Investigators determined that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, valued at $20,000 and belonging to Juan Antonio Nunez, was stolen from the property.
Following an investigation, deputies located the vehicle and took Nunez into custody.
Nunez was booked into the detention center on charges of:

Felony larceny after breaking and entering

Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle

Felony breaking and entering

Felony larceny of a motor vehicle

Misdemeanor driving while license revoked (non-impaired)
Nunez was placed in the Columbus County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.
