WHITEVILLE, NC — An inmate at the Columbus County Correctional Facility is facing additional criminal charges after staff uncovered a weapon inside the prison on Monday.
Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the N.C. Department of Adult Correction facility on Prison Camp Road at 9:41 a.m. on September 21. Correctional staff reported finding a piece of sharp metal wrapped in cloth inside the facility.
