James Dew Tully – Myrtle Beach SC

On September 20, 2026, James D. Tully passed away peacefully and rejoined his cherished granddaughter, Caradine. Born in a coal mining camp in 1934, Mr. Tully was raised and lived in Fayette County, West Virginia until he and his wife Peggy, retired and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the late 1980’s. After graduating from high school in 1953, he received his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Institute of Technology and later his master’s degree from West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. He and Peggy married in 1957 as he began a three decade teaching career in the public schools of West Virginia. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening, being a dog parent many times over, going to the beach and most importantly, spending time with his wife and family.
