HORRY COUNTY, SC — A 19‑year‑old Loris-area man is facing a series of violent‑crime charges after deputies say he opened fire during a domestic incident, endangering a woman, a child, and another person inside a home on Bluebird Road.
According to the Horry County Police Department (HCPD), the shooting occurred on August 23 in the 1100 block of Bluebird Road. Investigators say Jacob Dean Doyle, 19, allegedly chased a woman with a gun and fired several rounds outside the residence before following her inside.
HCPD reports that additional shots were fired inside the home, including near the area where a child was seated. Another person was also inside the residence when rounds struck the structure.
It has been said that Doyle and the woman knew each other. Officials have not released further details about their relationship.
The firearm used in the incident was reported stolen out of Marion County, according to HCPD.
Nineteen year old Doyle was taken into custody during a traffic stop by the department’s Violent Crimes and Targeted Enforcement Team. Officers noted that Doyle also had outstanding bench warrants related to drug court violations.
He is charged with two counts of assault and attempted murder, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession, sale, or delivery of a stolen pistol. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
No further details about the victims’ conditions have been released.
