Garden City, SC — Horry County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, marking a key milestone in the multi‑phase Garden City Streetscape Project. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Corporal Michael Ambrosino Memorial Parking Lot, located at 115 South Waccamaw Drive.
County officials say the ceremony will give residents and visitors an opportunity to learn more about the planned safety, resiliency and infrastructure improvements along the coastal corridor.
Construction on the project began earlier this month, and roadway detours are already in place along portions of South Waccamaw Drive. Attendees are asked to use caution and remain mindful of active work zones while traveling to the event.
