(UPDATED) MURDER ARREST REPORTED ON NORTH OAK STREET

JONES, VINSON DENIRO (MBPD)

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A 39‑year‑old Myrtle Beach man has been arrested following a reported homicide early Tuesday morning on North Oak Street.

According to police records, Vinson Deniro Jones was taken into custody on September 29 at approximately 3:50 a.m. Jones is charged with Murder, a felony under South Carolina law, along with Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Jones’ arrest is connected to the July 21 death of 33‑year‑old Jeneil Leon, who was found deceased inside her Greens Boulevard apartment after being reported missing the previous day. Myrtle Beach officers conducted a welfare check and discovered Leon inside the residence with a fatal gunshot wound. The Horry County Coroner’s Office later identified her and confirmed the manner of death as homicide.

Authorities also have not disclosed when Jones became a person of interest or whether additional evidence was recovered during the early‑morning arrest on North Oak Street.

The investigation remains ongoing.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
