WHITEVILLE WOMAN ACCUSED OF TRAFFICKING OPIATES AND METHAMPHETAMINE

WHITEVILLE, NC — A Whiteville resident is facing multiple felony narcotics charges after being taken into custody by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday evening.

Courtney M. Stevens, 42, of Northwood Drive, was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center around 6:47 p.m. on Sept. 30. According to law enforcement reports, Stevens faces two count charges of trafficking in opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stevens was placed under a $25,000 secured bond as she awaits trial.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
