SHALLOTTE, NC — The Brunswick County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on October 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to consider a rezoning request involving approximately 77.52 acres at 4651 Todd Road SW near Shallotte.
The hearing will be conducted in the Commissioners Chambers of the David R. Sandifer Administration Building at the Brunswick County Government Center, 30 Government Center Drive.
The application, identified as Zoning Case Z-942, requests a change in zoning for four parcels currently designated I-G (Industrial General) and NC (Neighborhood Commercial). The applicant is seeking to rezone the property to R-7500 (Medium Density Residential).
The parcels included in the request are:
• Parcel 2290004503
• Parcel 2290004504
• Parcel 2290004506
• Parcel 2290004507
According to the public notice, the combined rezoning area encompasses approximately 77.52 acres.
A related Land Use Plan Amendment (LUM-942) will also be considered during the hearing. The amendment would revise the Official Brunswick County CAMA Land Use Plan Map designation for the same property from INDI (Industrial-Intense) and LDR (Low Density Residential) to MDR (Medium Density Residential).
The proposed land use amendment applies to the same four parcels located along Todd Road SW and covers the same 77.52-acre tract.
The public may attend the hearing and provide comments regarding the proposed zoning and land use changes before the Planning Board makes its recommendation.
