Riegelwood Man Charged with Secret Peeping and Breaking & Entering

RIEGELWOOD — A Lake Waccamaw area disturbance led to serious charges against a young Riegelwood resident on Wednesday morning.

Erick Lopez Garcia, 20, of Old Lake Road, was arrested by Columbus County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Beaman at 11:04 AM on October 7 following a call to 3325 Pocosin Road in Lake Waccamaw. The victim, Kayla Jacobs, reported a break-in intended to terrorize or injure.

Garcia was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center on a felony charge of breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, alongside a misdemeanor charge of secret peeping. He is being held without bond.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
