RALEIGH — The North Carolina Plant Conservation Board will hold its upcoming meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Raleigh, addressing key regulatory issues, stewardship initiatives, and ongoing land conservation efforts across the state.
The meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Steve Troxler Agricultural Science Center, located at 4400 Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh. Members of the public and interested stakeholders may attend in person or join virtually via Microsoft Teams (Meeting ID: 276 060 586 812 1; Passcode: Sm6w2ah7).
Operating as part of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the N.C. Plant Conservation Program is responsible for establishing regulatory protections, voluntary conservation programs, and cooperative partnerships designed to safeguard imperiled plant species and native ecosystems.
The board’s responsibilities include maintaining the official list of North Carolina’s endangered, threatened, and special concern plant species, as well as facilitating land acquisition and habitat management to preserve vital botanical sites state-wide.
