Growing event celebrates local agriculture, youth programs, livestock exhibitions, and family entertainment.
ASH, NC — What began as a new venture to showcase Brunswick County’s agricultural community has quickly developed into one of the area’s anticipated fall events.
The Brunswick County Agricultural Fair & Expo will return to Ash for its second year, bringing together farmers, agricultural organizations, youth exhibitors, local businesses, and families for five days of education, entertainment, and community celebration. The fair is held at 2030 Ash Little River Road NW and features livestock exhibits, agricultural displays, amusement rides, food vendors, contests, and live entertainment.
Unlike many county fairs that have been established for decades, the Brunswick County Agricultural Fair & Expo is a relatively new event. The inaugural fair was held in 2025, becoming the county’s first agricultural fair and expo dedicated to highlighting local farming, livestock, youth agricultural programs, and the region’s rural heritage. Organizers created the event to provide Brunswick County with its own agricultural showcase and exhibition opportunities for local youth and producers.
The fair emerged in part to fill a void left by the Cape Fear Fair & Expo, which had not operated since 2021, giving residents of Brunswick County and surrounding communities an opportunity to enjoy a traditional fair experience closer to home.
Visitors can expect a mix of traditional fair attractions and educational exhibits focused on agriculture. Livestock displays, agricultural competitions, and 4-H programs provide an opportunity for young participants to showcase their skills and learn more about farming and animal husbandry. Fair organizers have also emphasized the importance of educating the public about where food comes from and the role agriculture continues to play in Brunswick County.
In addition to agricultural exhibits, the fair offers amusement rides, carnival games, food vendors, contests, and live performances throughout the event. Local musicians, entertainers, and family-friendly attractions help create an atmosphere designed to appeal to visitors of all ages.
As Brunswick County continues to grow, organizers hope the fair will become an annual tradition that connects residents with the area’s agricultural roots while providing a venue for education, community involvement, and family fun. Following a successful inaugural year, the 2026 fair marks another step in establishing a lasting agricultural celebration in the county.
