Safety Precautions & Preparedness Guidelines
Roadway Safety
-
Watch for Storm Debris: Heavy winds from weekend severe weather may have left tree limbs and debris scattered along rural corridors, especially near East Arcadia and northern Brunswick County.
-
Exercise Caution in Rural Areas: Use caution when driving near tree-lined county roads where unrecorded limb falls or compromised trees may pose hazards.
Ocean & Beach Safety
-
Observe Beach Advisory Signs: Rip currents and rough surf conditions can linger following passing coastal fronts. Exercise caution near coastal piers and jetties.
-
Swim Near Lifeguards: Always enter the ocean near an active lifeguard station and follow local beach patrol flags.
Residents across Columbus, Brunswick, and Horry counties can enjoy warm, clear weather through the remainder of the workweek before cooler autumn temperatures arrive over the weekend.
