BOLIVIA, NC— The Sunset Harbor Zion Hill Fire Department is seeking applicants for full-time career firefighter positions, offering annual salaries ranging from $46,760 to $50,672, plus overtime opportunities.
The department, which has served southeastern Bolivia and surrounding communities since 1979, provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services throughout its coverage area.
According to the department’s recruitment announcement, full-time firefighters receive a benefits package that includes employer-paid health, vision and dental insurance, employer-paid accident, sickness and critical illness coverage, and a $25,000 life insurance benefit.
Employees also become eligible for a 3% matching retirement fund after six months of service. AFLAC coverage is available at the employee’s expense following a 90-day probationary period.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold North Carolina firefighter certification. Preferred qualifications include a Class B commercial driver’s license and EMT-Basic certification.
