WHITEVILLE, NC — A Clarkton man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following an incident at a local pre-school facility that led to domestic assault and weapon charges.
Cpl. Christopher Cotton responded to Edu-Care Pre-School, located at 4881 Chadbourn Highway in Whiteville, at 4:16 p.m. on Oct. 21. Officers seized a stainless fixed-blade stake knife at the scene.
Deputies arrested Jamario Quinzel Norton, 26, of 55 Marlowe Trail, Clarkton, at 6:13 p.m.. Norton was charged with Misdemeanor Assault on a Female involving victim Connie Terneal Norton, 48, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Norton was booked into the county jail under a $500.00 secured bond for the weapon charge and placed under a domestic violence $0 / No Bond hold for the assault charge.
