Hallsboro Woman Booked on $51,000 Bond for Drug Paraphernalia, Missed Court Dates

HALLSBORO, NC — A local woman is being held under a heavy bond following her arrest on drug-related charges and outstanding court warrants.

Elizabeth Penny Berry, 53, of Flynn Cemetery Road in Hallsboro, was taken into custody by Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday afternoon, Sept. 11. Berry has been charged with two counts of Failure to Appear on Misdemeanor charges, alongside one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Deputies placed Berry in the Columbus County Detention Center, where her total secured bond was set at $51,000.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
