RIEGELWOOD, NC — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an afternoon larceny that left a Riegelwood resident short thousands of dollars in personal valuables.
Deputy Timothy Harrington responded to a reported theft at a home in the 3800 block of Old Stage Highway around 5:06 p.m. on Wednesday. According to incident reports, two 10-karat gold rope necklaces ($750 total), an Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max ($1,500), a 10-karat gold nugget earring ($100), and an Apple Watch Series 7 ($800) were taken from the victim, 43-year-old Elijah Earl Gause.
A 68-year-old male suspect has been identified in connection with the crime. The case remains under investigation.
