William J. “Billy Joe” Brown, 84, of Galivants Ferry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born April 6, 1942, to the late Andrew H. and Minnie Lee Brown. He was also predeceased by his stepson, Barry Dean Franklin; his brother, Andrew Brown; and his sister, Romona Crowe.
He was a loving father, husband, Papa, and brother. Bill was a lifelong fisherman, bird hunter, and a dedicated produce farmer. He was a member of the Aynor AFM Graddy Lodge #257, a Shriner, and he loved all his dogs like his family.
Surviving Mr. Bill is his loving wife, Brenda; daughter, Melissa Brown-Rabon (Tony); son, Andy Brown (Stephanie); three loving grandchildren, Emily, Peyton, and Grayson (Hailee); and his dog, Bandit.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home Friday, October 9, 2026, from 1 – 1:45 PM.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Ronnie Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Brown’s Family Cemetery.
