The regular season came to a close Friday night across Brunswick County with championship celebrations, standout individual performances, and teams positioning themselves for the state playoffs.

The biggest story belonged to South Brunswick, which capped a remarkable turnaround season by claiming a share of the Southeastern Conference championship. Meanwhile, North Brunswick showed plenty of fight against a talented Laney squad despite ending the regular season with a loss.

South Brunswick left no doubt Friday night, overwhelming West Bladen 35-7 to secure a share of the Southeastern Conference championship and finish the regular season 7-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.

The Cougars kept pouring it on in the second quarter when Daniels found Corben Farrow for a 75-yard touchdown strike. Revels completed a three-touchdown night with a seven-yard scoring run before halftime, sending South Brunswick into the break with a 35-0 lead and triggering a running clock for the entire second half.
