COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC — Local law enforcement booked five individuals into the Columbus County Detention Center between August 20 and August 21, facing charges ranging from multi-state fraud to severe violent felonies.
Among those arrested is Sheldon Glen Patrick, 59, of Bolton, who faces a long list of severe felony charges. Patrick was charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, two counts of breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, felony breaking and entering, discharging a firearm to cause fear, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Additionally, he was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a place for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Patrick is being held under a total secured bond of $550,000.
In a separate case, two South Carolina residents were taken into custody on felony fraud and theft allegations:

Taylor Oliver Di Bello, 35, of Sumter, S.C., was charged with attempted obtaining property by false pretense, identity theft, attempted larceny, felony conspiracy, uttering a forged instrument, and possession/manufacture of a fraudulent ID. Di Bello’s bond was set at $200,000 secured.

Alphonza Mitchell, 56, also of Sumter, S.C., was charged alongside Di Bello with attempted obtaining property by false pretense, attempted larceny, and felony conspiracy. Mitchell received a $45,000 secured bond.
Other arrests detailed in the report include:

Derek Neal Hinson, 34, of Whiteville, charged with violation of a domestic violence protection order. He is being held with no bond.

Phillip Myles Patterson, 26, of Chapel Hill, charged with speeding and driving while license revoked. He was issued a $1,000 unsecured bond
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
