WHITEVILLE, NC — The Whiteville Police Department has released its weekly activity snapshot for the week of September 7, 2026, detailing local response statistics and spotlighting key leadership within the department.
During the past week, officers responded to 213 calls for service, took 31 incident reports, investigated 9 motor vehicle collisions, and made 6 arrests.

As part of its weekly update, the department recognized Patrol Lieutenant Gore in its Officer Spotlight for his dependable leadership and hands-on approach to protecting the community.
“Lt. Gore is known for his tireless work ethic, extensive experience, and willingness to jump in and work right beside his officers—no matter how difficult or dirty the job may be,” the department shared in a public statement. “He leads by example, never asking his team to do anything he wouldn’t do himself.”
Upcoming WPD Community Events
The department also highlighted two upcoming community events on its calendar:

Wellness Health Fair: Friday, Sept. 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Vineland Depot (711 S. Madison Street).

Halloween Community Event: Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the City Hall Parking Lot.
