SOUTHPORT, NC — The NC Ferry System is advising passengers that the Southport–Fort Fisher route will be suspended September 12–15 while crews complete final repair work on the Southport ramps.
The upcoming work will finish the ramp‑repair process that began in March, a project officials say is necessary to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the route.
According to the Ferry System, the repairs will require a service pause of no more than four days, with the route expected to resume its regular off‑season schedule no later than September 16.
Passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly. Staff apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary shutdown.
