Rita Elaine Evans Kissam, 68, of Harrells, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Lower Cape Fear Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
Rita was born on January 7, 1958, daughter of the late James Franklin Evans and Eva Mae King Evans. In addition, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Casson Goldsmith and her brother, Franklin Evans, II.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Evergreen Baptist Church at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Entombment will follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
Rita held a 25-year career in Executive Management with AAFES, serving not only in the United States but several foreign countries.
The surviving family includes her husband of 47 years, Danny R. Kissam; son, Ronald Wade Parrish; grandchildren, Alexa Parrish, Micah Parrish, Kayla Elaine Johnson, Corbin Goldsmith; siblings, Ronald Evans and Gail Evans.
