HORRY COUNTY, SC — Horry County Mosquito Control plans to conduct an aerial spraying operation on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as long as weather conditions remain favorable. The flight is scheduled to begin two hours before sunset and continue for two hours afterward.
The spray route for this mission includes Floyd Page Road, Dog Bluff Road, Grange Road, and Vaught Road.
County officials note that the products used in mosquito‑control operations are approved by the EPA and the South Carolina Department of Pesticide Regulation. While the chemicals are considered low‑risk for people and animals, residents with asthma or other respiratory conditions may want to stay indoors and keep windows closed during the spraying period. Homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, or peeled before eating.
To help protect honeybee colonies, beekeepers are encouraged to notify Horry County Stormwater of their hive locations. Hive owners can submit their information through the county’s online form.
Beehive owners are also asked to check the aerial spray map daily
Residents living in unincorporated areas who wish to request mosquito spraying may contact the Horry County Road & Drainage Hotline at 843‑381‑8000 or use the online form available through the county’s Stormwater Department.
