WHITEVILLE, NC — A 22-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office following a domestic incident involving a firearm and property damage.
Corey Peterson, 22, was booked into the Columbus County Law Enforcement Center at 12:31 a.m. on September 12, 2026.
Deputies charged Peterson with multiple offenses:

Assault by Pointing a Gun

Assault on a Female

Interfering with Emergency Communication

Injury to Personal Property
Following his booking, Peterson was placed under a $2,500 secured bond.
