COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC — Columbus County Water & Sewer District II has issued a boil water advisory after local contractors inadvertently struck a water main Monday afternoon, prompting a temporary loss of pressure in the affected portion of the system.
The advisory applies only to customers in the following areas:
Princess Ann Road for addresses 7093 through 8181 and Macedonia Church Road for addresses 126 through 1313.
County officials said crews are working to repair the damaged line and restore normal service.
Until the advisory is lifted, customers in the affected zones are asked to boil water for one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.
The county will release additional updates as repairs progress and water‑quality testing is completed.
