CLARKTON, NC — — A 29‑year‑old man was hospitalized Tuesday after being shot inside his vehicle in the 6300 block of N. Hallsboro Road, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the man was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim reported that the shooter was a 23‑year‑old woman who fled the scene before law enforcement or emergency responders arrived. Investigators have not publicly identified either the victim or the woman accused in the case.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting and has not announced any arrests or charges.
