BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC — A portion of U.S. 74/76 will remain partially closed for several weeks as state transportation crews perform maintenance on a bridge over Hood Creek near Leland.
The right eastbound lane was closed at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24 as part of a North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) project aimed at extending the bridge’s lifespan and maintaining safety for drivers.
Officials suggest that the lane will be wide open come 5:00 p.m. on October 16, though weather conditions could delay or reschedule the work.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect slower traffic and use caution when approaching the work zone.
