Jason Lamar Owens, 49, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Jason was born on June 11, 1977, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, to Kenneth and Bonnie Owens. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jason is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Meghan Owens; his daughter, Zoe Owens; his parents, Bonnie and Ken Owens; his brother, Christopher Owens (Andrea); his sister, Cara Owens; his nieces, Jiselle and Kayla; his nephew, Adrian; his aunts, Linda Lasenburg and Michelle Brown (Kevin); and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jean Lasenburg, Minnie Owens, and Kenneth Owens, Sr. Jason was a member of Beach Church in Myrtle Beach, where his faith was an important part of his life. He loved Jesus and found great comfort, strength, and joy in his relationship with Him.
A hands-on person by nature, Jason loved working with his hands, building things, and putting things together. He was a wonderful husband, a great dad, and a devoted son who cherished his family and the time they shared together.
Jason was also an avid sports fan. He proudly cheered for the UNC Tar Heels and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He especially enjoyed watching basketball and football and sharing his enthusiasm for the teams he loved.
Jason will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the family he treasured so dearly.
