Every October, this city leans all the way into Halloween – decorations, costumes, downtown events, and a full month of community excitement. That tradition officially begins Thursday, October 1st with the Big Boo‑ginning Costume March & Concert, the annual kickoff to Conway’s City of Halloween.
City officials are encouraging families to plan ahead for parking, shuttles, and temporary traffic changes before heading downtown. A free shuttle will operate from 1330 Marina Drive between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., running directly to the drop‑off point at 2nd Avenue and Laurel Street. The shuttle entrance is accessible only from Ash Pond Road at Marine Drive. Shuttle vehicles are not ADA accessible, and those needing accessible parking should use the designated lot at 1000 2nd Avenue.
On‑street parking will be available throughout downtown during regular hours, and rideshare users will find a dedicated drop‑off and pick‑up zone at 1301 2nd Avenue. Drivers should expect street closures and traffic pattern changes surrounding the parade route.
The evening begins with parade registration at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverwalk Entrance at 4th Avenue and Kingston Street. Anyone participating in the costume contest must be in line by 6:30 p.m. The Costume March steps off at 7:00 p.m., traveling along Kingston Street, Third Avenue, and Laurel Street before ending at Town Green, where the community concert will take place.
Following the march, attendees can enjoy food trucks, vendors, and a live performance at Town Green. The city will host its annual costume contest with cash prizes, with winners announced after the concert.
