State Highway Patrol Charges Cerro Gordo Driver with DWI

CERRO GORDO — A traffic stop in northern Columbus County resulted in the arrest of a Cerro Gordo resident early Wednesday morning.

Tanner Chase Harper, 32, was pulled over by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol at 1:04 AM on October 7.

Harper was processed into the county facility on a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired, along with traffic infractions for failing to maintain lane control and exceeding the posted speed limit. His bond was set at $15,000 secured.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
