Nina was known for her love of gardening and cooking and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for over 50 years. She worked at Nationwide Insurance Company for many years and volunteered at The Hope Chest until she was well into her nineties.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ada Hewett; sister, Margaret Shaw; first husband, James O. Herring; second husband, Bill Browder; niece, Teresa Moenich; nephews, Christopher Herring and Tracy Herring (Melanie), and a special friend, Mary Houston.
Survivors include her brother, James F. Hewett and many nieces and nephews including, Rebecca Justice (Gary), Gary Hewett (Chris), Debby Ferebee, Glen Shaw, Tamara Herring, Charles “Chip” Herring (Gail), Tina McLaughlin (Michael), Cheryl Burke (Donnie), Curtis “Beemer” Herring (Mary), and special great niece Kim Moenich (Navid). There are many other great nieces and great nephews who loved her very much.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at one o’clock in the afternoon at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hewett, Nick Justice, Cole Justice, Gary Justice, Navid Amlani and Curtis “Beemer” Herring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 494 Mt. Pisgah Road SW, Supply, North Carolina 28462.
