Loris Hyatt McPherson, 98, of the Beaverdam Community, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday evening, October 6, 2026, at her residence.
Loris was born on July 30, 1928, daughter of the late Franklin Leo Hyatt and Nancy Brigman Hyatt. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce McPherson, Sr.; son, William Bruce McPherson, Jr.; siblings, RC Hyatt, Nora McPherson, Eugene Hyatt, Emma Jean Hyatt Townsend, Virginia Hyatt Mintz, Willis Steed Hyatt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026 at Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Monday, at the church.
Loris is survived by her daughter, Rita Jo McPherson Harper of Pittsboro, NC; grandchildren, William Shaun McPherson (Erin) of Austin, TX, Jamie Harper Teague (Justin) of Pittsboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Caroline, Alexis, and Bristol.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials can be made in her honor to the Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church.
