Sheriff’s Office Investigating $900 Concrete Block Theft on Best Road

WHITEVILLE, N.C. — Deputies are investigating a false pretense scheme after a Whiteville resident reported hundreds of dollars in stolen building supplies Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Best Road around 5:04 p.m. to take a report of obtaining property by false pretenses. According to the victim, an unknown suspect fraudulently obtained $900 worth of 8x8x16 concrete construction blocks from the property.

No suspect description or vehicle information was immediately listed in the initial incident log. The case remains under active investigation by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

All individuals named in this report are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
