A Tornado Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington until 12:00 p.m. EDT for Columbus and Robeson Counties and surrounding areas.
At 11:08 a.m., radar indicated rotation within a severe thunderstorm near Mullins, South Carolina, moving east at 30 mph. The storm is capable of producing a tornado.
Communities in the warning area include Fair Bluff, Lake View, Cherry Grove, Kemper, Nichols, and Cerro Gordo.
Residents should seek shelter immediately in a sturdy building, away from windows. Flying debris, damage to homes, vehicles, roofs, and trees are possible.
A Tornado Watch* remains in effect until 5:00 p.m. Sunday for portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina.
