Steven Curran Stewart — Little River SC

Steven Curran Stewart, 59, of Little River, S.C. passed away on October 26, 2026. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina on November 30,1966 to Reverend Robert and Jo Ellen Stewart, he was Tar Heel born and Tar Heel bred as his family moved to Raleigh, N.C. when he was 11. He was a lifelong Tar Heel even though he became a bit of a Clemson fan due to his wife, Peggy.

As a graduate of the N.C. School of Broadcasting, he was gifted with an amazing voice that he used throughout his broadcasting career internationally through his voiceover talent career with his company “Zeus The Voice.” Even as a child he entertained family and friends with imitations, making people laugh. He was a member of SAG-AFTRA, whose “members are the faces and voices that entertain and inform America and the world.” Steven did just that. With his booming voice, he had affiliations using his talent to include FOX, FOX Sports, msnbc, The Weather Channel, MLB Network, AXS.tv, TNT, Invincible Pictures, SPEED, Smithsonian, Panasonic, Discovery Channel, CSU Rams, Indianapolis Colts, and Global Tour Creatives. Auburn and Nebraska fans enjoyed his voice on a Cotton Bowl promo. As his sister always said,” you’ve heard him on TV, the radio or somewhere and you just didn’t know it.”

Known to his family as Steven and his friends as Steve, he also used his voice as a narrator in church programs, had a voice to sing, write songs and a love of playing the guitar. Thanks be to God for the gift of his voice and music.

Steven loved animals and especially his cat Zoe. His favorite view was from his porch at Little River watching boats go by, also enjoying his own boat for many years. Loving to laugh, he was known as the “fun” Uncle to his nieces and nephews. He also deeply loved the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Peggy’s family. Steven was loved by many and will be missed by many.

While a D.J. in Cheraw, S.C. he met his dear wife of 31 years, Peggy Hamden Stewart, and grieved her loss deeply for the rest of his life after her passing in 2024. Steve and Peggy loved to laugh together, loving each other unconditionally through happy and difficult times.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Steven is predeceased in death by his parents, Robert and Jo Ellen Stewart. He is survived by his sister, Kerri Stewart Hurley (Brad), nieces, Amanda Hurley O’Quinn (Drew), Meredith Hurley Bolton (Trey), and nephew Gray Stewart Hurley (Mary Grace), step children, Mac Estridge (Michelle), Ashton Estridge (Nikki), Donna Green (Victor), their children and grandchildren, and Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins in the Stewart, Bradley, Hurley and Hamden families.

Steven had made a profession of faith to accept Jesus as his personal Savior. A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
