The first call came at 12:30 a.m., when HCFR crews were dispatched to a residence off Kings Road near Lake Arrowhead Road for a reported entrapment. A person was found trapped beneath a vehicle, prompting heavy rescue operations. The individual was removed and transported to the hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries. A nearby residence sustained structural damage. South Carolina Highway Patrol investigated, and Horry County Police assisted.
At 12:28 p.m., Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to a brush fire near Highway 50 and Loblolly Avenue in Little River. The fire was estimated at approximately two acres and remained an active incident as crews worked to fully contain it. The South Carolina Forestry Commission (SCFC) assisted, and smoke was expected to remain visible in the area for an extended duration.
Later in the afternoon, HCFR issued a 5:05 p.m. update on a separate brush fire that had grown to an estimated 12 acres. Crews reported the fire was fully contained. SCFC used plows to cut fire‑break lines around the burned areas, and no structures were threatened. Smoke and occasional flareups were expected as firefighters continued monitoring the site.
The final incident of the day occurred at 7:07 p.m., when HCFR was dispatched to White Oak Lane in Galivants Ferry for a camper that was fully involved in fire upon arrival. The fire was extinguished, and the incident was brought under control. The camper was destroyed, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
