Faith & Blue Prayer Walk Set for Conway, Bringing Community and Law Enforcement Together

CONWAY, SC — Local faith leaders and law enforcement agencies will come together Saturday, October 10, for a countywide prayer walk aimed at strengthening relationships and fostering unity across Horry County. The gathering is part of the National Faith & Blue movement, a nationwide initiative focused on building trust between residents and the officers who serve them.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at The Refuge Church, located at 290 Dunn Short Cut Road in Conway. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office will serve as host, with additional agencies from across the county participating.

Participants will walk together and stop at designated points to pray over vehicles representing each law enforcement agency in Horry County. The walk is designed to create space for conversation, reflection, and shared purpose among residents, faith leaders, and officers.

Faith & Blue launched nationally to encourage stronger, safer, and more unified communities by connecting law enforcement professionals with residents, businesses, and faith‑based organizations. The initiative promotes solutions‑focused activities that are jointly organized by community groups and law enforcement agencies, with an emphasis on improving police‑community relations through collaboration rather than conflict.

Local organizers describe Saturday’s prayer walk as an opportunity for residents to engage directly with officers in a supportive environment, reinforcing the idea that community safety is a shared responsibility.

The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend.
